Denmark weather is fairly mild, and is highly affected by the wet winds and the seas that surround the country. Denmark weather is located in the temperate climate zone. Due to the various changes in wind direction weather fluctuations occur quite often and even unexpectedly. These winds are normally stronger and more frequent during the winter. The temperature during the day does not differ a lot from the one during the night.
The winters are not extremely cold, with the lowest average temperature being 0 C during February, which is the coldest month of the year. The summers are normally fairly mild, with the warmest month being July, while the temperature usually reaches 17 C.
The Denmark weather is rainy throughout the year and there are not really any dry periods. The average precipitation is 61cm per annum, and most of the rainfall occurs during September, October and November. There are approximately 170 rainy days during one year. Although it is not a regular phenomenon, there could be some snowfall during the winter.
In Denmark, as it happens in the rest of Scandinavia, due to its location, the length of the sunlight during the day varies a lot. The days are short during winter time, with the sunrise coming at 8 am and the sunset around 3 pm. In the contrary, the days are very long during summer, when sunrise comes around 3.30 and sunset at 10 pm.
Series of low pressure systems (cyclones) moving northeast are causing the typically variable weather. Within a few days the Denmark weather may alter from being rainy to warm and brighter or slightly foggy sky. Eventually, the passage of the cold front may generate precipitation in the form of heavy showers followed by clear sky with a few clouds.
